Who this covers
This policy covers the website at opies.io and the Opie app for Mac. Opie is made byInsaneArts. Tornike Gomareli is the developer.

The website
opies.io is the landing site for Opie. Pages are static files. A Cloudflare Worker serves them, redirectswww.opies.io to opies.io, answers video range requests, and forwards a short list of analytics signals. Cloudflare receives the connection that asks for a page, including the IP address, the page address, and ordinary browser headers, because that is how the page is delivered.
Cookies and preferences on your device
The site's code does not set cookies. Nothing in this repository writes a cookie, and the analytics script's source, as published by TelemetryDeck, does not mention cookies or browser storage.
The home page does keep two sound preferences in the browser, and only there:
- Whether the page is muted, under the name
opie-proto-muted, in local storage. It is read when the home page loads and written when you change the mute button. - Whether you asked the page to play through an iPhone or iPad silent switch, under the name
opie-proto-loud, in session storage for that tab.
Those two values are not sent to us.
Analytics
The home page, Features, About, Pricing, this policy, and the terms load TelemetryDeck's script fromcdn.telemetrydeck.com. TelemetryDeck is a separate analytics service. The unfinished draft at/next and the short share-preview pages at /proto/s do not load it.
The script sends a page view when one of those pages loads. TelemetryDeck's documentation says a page view includes the page address (a query string on that address is included), the referring page, language, browser and system details, and campaign parameters such as utm_ when they are present. It says the country is derived from the IP address, the visitor id is a daily hash of the IP address, the app id, the browser's User-Agent, and a salt, and the IP address itself is not stored. It also says the script does not use cookies. That description is theirs:web setupandprivacy FAQ.
The same pages can send a fixed set of interaction signals to our Worker at /api/t. The Worker forwards each one to TelemetryDeck and does not write it to any store configured in this repository. Workers Logs and Traces are not turned on in the Worker's configuration. Before forwarding, the Worker builds a daily visitor id by hashing a secret salt, the UTC date, the IP address, and the User-Agent. The hash is what it sends. The IP address and the User-Agent are not part of the forwarded signal. If Cloudflare supplies a country code, the Worker adds that code.
Each signal includes the path of the page, not the query string. The signals are:
- CTA.clicked, with the button (download) and whether it was in the header or on the page.
- Ring.actionRun, with the name of a demo Ring and a demo action, when someone uses the Ring on the Features page. This is the demo on the website, not activity inside the Mac app.
- Features.stageViewed, with the id of a section on the Features page.
- AppRings.appPicked, with the name of a demo app on the Features page.
- Share.used, with how you shared (the system share sheet, a network name such as X or Reddit, copying an image, or copying a link). If you share a file through the system sheet, the signal includes the file's type, such as a video or an image, not the file itself.
- Sound.enabled, when you turn the home page's sound on.
- EasterEgg.found, with which hidden demo you found: comets, the house, or confetti.
Waitlist
Before Opie was released, the site had a waitlist form. It stored each email address submitted, and the time it was stored, in a Cloudflare D1 database, so we could email that address when Opie was out. The form is gone, and the site no longer collects email addresses.
We keep a waitlist address until the launch messages about Opie are finished, or until you ask for it to be deleted, whichever comes first. To ask, write togomarelidevelopment@gmail.com.
Sharing from the site
If you choose Share, the page can open X, Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, WhatsApp, or Telegram, or send you to Instagram or TikTok to upload a file. That happens only after you choose it. The site does not embed those companies' scripts. What you then do on their site is covered by their own policies. The Share.used signal records which destination you picked.
Fonts, pictures, and video
Fonts, pictures, sounds, and videos are files on this website. They are not loaded from an advertising network. Videos under /film/ can be requested in byte ranges so a browser can play them. Those requests are not saved as a profile.
What the website code does not do
This repository has no advertising pixel, no Google Analytics, no embedded social feed, and no code that sells personal information. It does not set cookies.
The Opie app
Opie is a free Mac app for macOS 26 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel. You download it from this website. It is signed and notarized. There is no account and no registration, so the app does not identify you.
Your Rings, scripts, files, and setup stay on your Mac. The app does not send what you type, what you run, what you convert, the contents of your files, or the contents of your clipboard.
The only network use in the app is anonymous usage telemetry, sent to TelemetryDeck. It covers:
- a daily count of unique people who opened the app
- which Rings are opened and flicked most
- which Slices are used most
- how many flicks a person makes in a day
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page and the effective date at the top will change. The terms of service are at /terms.
